GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS
Oulgaret (Uzhaavarkarai) Municipality is located at North East of Pondicherry municipality limits. The Oulgaret Commune Panchayat came into existence by French Metropolitan Decree dated 12-03-1880 and later on 14-01-1994, it was elevated to the status of a Municipality.

The total area of Oulgaret Municipality is 36.75 Sq.Kms. Population as per 2011 census is 3,00,104. The area is comprised of 8 Revenue Villages.
